UIKA Bogor Postgraduate School Holds New Student Ta’aruf Activities for Odd Academic Year 2023/2024
The Postgraduate School (SPsUIKA) Bogor held a New Student Ta’aruf activity for the Odd Academic Year 2023/2024, which took place at the KH. Abdullah Siddiq Building, Ibn Khaldun University (UIKA) Bogor (10/14).
Deputy Director for Academic, Innovation and Student Affairs, H. Hendri Tanjung, Ph.D., in his report as the head of the ta’aruf activity, said that this year’s ta’aruf activity was attended by 164 new students and assured that the lecturers of the UIKA Bogor Postgraduate School, apart from being graduates from within and outside the country, are also experts in their fields.
This ta’aruf activity was opened by the Chancellor of UIKA Bogor, Prof. H. E. Mujahidin. In his opening remarks, he hoped that new students could complete their studies on time so that they could serve the nation more quickly. In addition, he also hopes that UIKA Postgraduate School students will have activities and publications both nationally and internationally.
Also present were the chairman of the Ibn Khaldun Education Foundation (YPIKA) Bogor, Dr. H. Didi Hilman, M.H., who conveyed his congratulations on joining the UIKA Bogor Postgraduate School and also introduced the new students to the great figures who founded and helped build UIKA Bogor.
In building UIKA Bogor, the Postgraduate School also played a role; this can be seen in the Vision, namely Becoming a Leading Postgraduate School Based on Islam and Globally Competitive Technology in 2030.
The Director of the UIKA Bogor Postgraduate School, Prof. Dr. KH. Didin Hafidhuddin, MS, conveyed in his speech that from the Vision there are four basic principles that are used as a guide, namely fiqhuddin (understanding religious knowledge correctly), fiqhunnas (understanding human conditions, so that it is right in conveying good things), fiqhul waqi (understanding reality, so that what advantages must be prepared to face global competitiveness), and akhlakul karimah.
After a series of opening activities were completed and closed with a prayer by the head of the Islamic Studies Masters Program, Dr. H. Abas Mansur Tamam, Lc., M.A. continued with two materials delivered by H. Hendri Tanjung, Ph.D., as Deputy Director I for Academic, Innovation, and Student Affairs related to the material on Ibn Khaldun-nan and Dr. H. Ibdalsyah. M.A. as Deputy Director II for Resources, Cooperation, and Da’wah related to tuition fees.
Quoting Ibn Khaldun’s statement delivered by H. Hendri Tanjung, Ph.D., for new students, namely, “Know that Al-Quran education is a religious message by Muslims worldwide. Therefore, Al-Quran education can penetrate the heart and strengthen faith. Teaching the Quran should be prioritized before developing other sciences.”
To increase enthusiasm in pursuing knowledge, Dr. H. Ibdalsyah also conveyed a message taken from the advice of Imam Asy-Syafi’i, namely, “O my brother, you will not gain knowledge except with 6 conditions, namely being intelligent, having the enthusiasm to gain knowledge, being serious, having sufficient means (preparing funds to gain knowledge), having a clear chain of knowledge from a teacher, and requiring a long time.”
After the material from the deputy director was delivered, the activity continued with the handover of students to each study program, followed by a group photo and material from each study program at the UIKA Bogor Postgraduate School.
This ta’aruf activity was also attended by the Rector of UIKA Bogor, Dr. H.E. Mujahidin, M.Si, who also gave a speech and opened the ta’aruf activity; the Head of YPIKA Bogor, Dr. H. Didi Hilman, S.H., M.H., M.Pd.I.; the Vice Rectors, Deans of Faculties, and lecturers in the Postgraduate School environment also attended the event held.
